When am I not the coach for you
Please read this carefully. My coaching style is not for everyone, and so I want to make sure we are a good match so neither of us wastes time.
1. You are looking for someone to bully you into doing what you think you should be doing. Nope, nopety nope. I do not shame or pressure people into doing things. You drive every single session, and you are going to make your own decisions and take action based on dots that we connect together, or information and suggestions I can give you.
2. You want to see results without having a look at the why. Sometimes, we go deep in sessions. I am not a therapist and therefore will never act like one, but we will look at what is holding you back. This includes fears, values and your environment. Don’t worry though, I won’t do an impromptu audit of your garden.
3. You don’t really want to take action, or take responsibility for your actions. I will check in with you every session to see how and what you are doing, because I want what you want: results. Again, that does not mean I will yell at you Ramsay-style until you do what you wanted to do in the first place. It just means that I keep you accountable, and if something is not working, we will figure out how we can make it work for you. Together.
4. You find swearing offensive. I believe there are much, much more offensive things happening in the world. I have a casual coaching style, and I like being able to bring some lightness into the sessions. And holy fuckballs, can swearing help with that. See?
